Helloooooooooooo, Dangan Roleplay players! First off, I'd like to welcome you all to the game and preemptively hope you all have a blast with this little murder island we've put together for you. We mods are Super High School Level EXCITED to get this show on the road and get ya'll murdering each other left and right.

Hola amigos, my name is Mallo and I am bringing this...tentacled abomination to the game.

Maya is part human, part octopus, all weirdo. Some poor sap generations earlier in her family tree got roped into some highly controversial experiments meant to fuse human and animal DNA, and BAM! Tentacled descendants! Unfortunately health care for people like herself is understandably limited, and as a wanna-be doctor-slash-marine biologist Maya is a slave to the duality between her altruistic desires to help relieve the poor health conditions of her bay (which is home to many marine hybrids not unlike herself), and her selfish fascinations with wanting to cut everyone up and gaze lovingly at their innards.

She's a bit...tentacles-on, so ready yourself for examination upon first meeting, especially if you're non-human (though Maya won't be siccing her tentacles on anyone without prior permission from the players, I promise you that. Everyone else just gets intensely stared at and maybe begged to let Maya look inside their mouths and ears).

Maya's name almost makes me wish I'd taken Dahlia from a later canon point so she could make awful associations with it.

Probably not because of the huge size difference but gosh, would I ever love CR between the two of them. Dahlia can never have too many people to fool into thinking she's a good person!

D'aww, thank you! You'll make me go red as Maya (incidentally, Maya goes purple when she blushes — blue blood and all that, y'know?) I look forward to getting to play with Sam as well, let's get some OC-lovin' happening in this place! Since Sam enjoys fairytales, Maya's hometown of Fire Bay has its own mythical origin story that Maya would be simply chuffed to recount to this guy sometime.

OH MAN Sam will probably be frightened of her and her appearance at first, timid guy he is, but if she tells him stuff like that, that is totally the way to his heart. MORE STORIES FOREVER, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Oh gosh she's adorable. Franziska will probably have no freaking idea what to do with her.

Hehe, ty! <3 I always find it amusing that people's reactions to Maya tend to be split 50-50 between "oh gosh she's adorable" and "holy hell what IS that terrifyingly fugly thing" with apparently zero middle-ground, but that so far over here Maya has been getting all "ahh cute" responses, haha! (It is always gratifying when people think she's cute as a button — good to know that I'm not the only person who finds tentacle-abominations the perfect cuteness-fodder, but it is just as fun watching people headtilt over her like "seriously, what?")

And MAYA HOPES IT WILL BE SOMETHING KIND AND FRIENDLY AND NOT-VIOLENT, SCARY WHIP LADY, but I on the other hand will take absolutely anything Franziska chooses to throw at my character. Bring it all!

Tentacled abominations are always a plus, in my books.

Fran may be struck with the distinct impression that Gourdy the lake monster and Director Hotti had a lovechild and then named her after a certain annoying spirit medium, though.

I cannot even deal with how cute she is and I am sort of sad that I couldn't convince my Rose player to join now because octopus girls.

And your art is amazing? Like...wow holy shit I'm sitting here stunned.

Man everyone here is way too kind, my ego with inflate like a pufferfish and roll away on the waves stoppit ~~don't stop it~~. More octogirls is always rad but I'm sure Maya will be happy simply to listen to the tales of the octopeople in John's world. I hope they will find many an occasion to be dorks together!

OH fjasdlkfj my bad, there aren't actually octopus girls in John's world. Rose just likes Lovecraftian tentacled horrorterrors and stuff like that. So she would have loved to meet Maya. Either way though, yes, it will be interesting. Dorks are good.

At least if John ever makes it home he will have stories to relay to Rose. I don't know much about Homestuck outside of...general fandom-culture osmosis (cough tumblr cough) but I am kinda figuring John is an excitable geek, and Maya is an excitable geek, so they can be...excitable geeky dorks together. Please teach Maya a little about the crazy universe you come from though, John, because Maya will not believe the half of it but she will sure be fascinated-!

But yeah, you've got that right, John is definitely an excitable dork so they'll probably get along pretty well. Just...don't mind him if he makes insensitive tentacle jokes at least once. HE'S A GOOD KID, REALLY...

DON'T WORRY it will likely roll right off Maya's back. Like water off a duck's. Or an octopus's. It typically takes a lot to insult her unless you say something deliberately outright mean (or call her a monster, mutant...anything like that is pretty much a slur where she comes from) since Maya is Socially Dumb. And even if he did manage to insult her, she's pretty quick to forgive ~~especially if bribes of food are involved.~~

For point of reference, in canon after John's sister mystically acquired a few dog-like traits, John cheerfully called her "a furry, but not the kind people want to have sex with on the internet"

YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM TO SEE A LILO AND STITCH CHARACTER HERE I SWEAR TO GOD. That was always my favourite Disney movie growing up and I loved Jumba. Maya is going to try and buddy up to him so damn fast because 1) omfg you are certainly not human what are you please tell her all about yourself and let her investigate you please and 2) she is going to be even more interested when she hears about the whole geneticist stuff, especially considering the awkward shenanigans that happened in her own country's history that made her the way she is today. Jumba you will be her new favourite person ever.
