You asked for it, we're finally giving it to you! Say hello to the mastermind meme!

What does this mean exactly? It means your character is the one responsible for everything! They've been controlling Monobear from the shadows (or maybe they have an assistant to help them, possibly even one of your classmates!), they've been putting forth the motives, running the trials, all of it! And now they've finally chosen to reveal themselves and their true motives.

What are their motives? Why do they want to spread despair? Are they somehow connected to the late Junko Enoshima? And most importantly what is their snazzy Monobear-themed look like? You decide!

Threading reactions is highly encouraged and feel free to AU things up to mix up our current survivor pool as much as you'd like.

Flower child...?

[Now that was odd; Veronica had always called her 'Juni' ever since they first established nicknames. Her expression of shock falters slightly, changing to that of concern as she steps a bit closer to Veronica; a hint of caution is laced within her footsteps.]

Roni, are you... okay?

[And Veronica steps closer to Juniper, until she's basically in front of the gardener. Veronica herself seems to almost... skip, there was a spring in her step that wasn't there before. Her smile never left her face, never faltered.]

I'm completely fine, Juni! [She replied, the tie around her neck waving about as she moved.] In fact, I feel better than fine; reanimation is so exciting.

[In any other given circumstance, Juniper probably wouldn't mind that close contact; however, she takes a few steps back to put distance between her and Veronica. She looks the other up and down, deciding against commenting on the blood that seemed to leak between the girl's seams.]

W-Well, um... I-I guess so?

[But something is different, and she knows it.]

There's no question about it. I'm in peak physical performance now.

[If there's anything unnerving Juniper, Veronica doesn't seem to notice it at the moment; instead, she continues to prattle on, picking at a bit of thread hanging from her left wrist.]

...Well, I could have probably been put back together by better hands, but what can you do? I wanted to make my reappearance a surprise after all!

So, you're saying... dying was your plan all along?

[Juniper watches as Veronica fiddles with one of her strings, not exactly sure how she feels about this entire situation.]

Well, obviously! You think I'd just confess to killing Sam with no strings attached?

[She chuckles gamely at her own joke, smile brightening.]

No, no. I have big things planned for all this, and for all of you. That's the job of the mastermind after all.

W-Wh— ...Mastermind?

[Juniper had expected this, really, but... she couldn't believe it.]

Roni, no... You can't be...

Oh, but I can.

[She wags a finger in Juniper's face. This was the part she was waiting for all along.]

You see, I was built specifically for protecting those I cared about, killing people really isn't a new thing for me. But before you think I'm some kind of mass murderer, let me explain that I only kill those that deserve it.

[She brings the finger back and crosses her arms in thought.]

Of course, that basically goes for just about everyone on the islands. Lysandre has killed thousands, John, Aradia, and Roxy caused the destruction of their worlds, Sam is... Sam. It all works out, you see?

...And I? I have done nothing of the sort.

[Honestly, that was a good question. What was Veronica planning on doing with those that were truly innocent?]

You haven't yet. Not that I think you'd ever do anything like that, of course, but that doesn't mean no one else can't be driven to do things, as you and me have seen.

[Oh, Maya and Franziska. You were both so much fun to watch die.]

They'll be filler until more interesting bunches can be brought in... or until they can become more interesting.

[She reached out and took Juniper's hand.] Don't worry, Juni. You won't be hurt~

[Juniper seems to tense up as Veronica takes her hand, and almost instinctively does she step back, withdrawing her hand from the other's grip.]

This... This isn't right, Roni. None of this is right...

[Veronica looks.... almost saddened when Juniper pulls away. Unfortunately, that bit of humanity is quickly swallowed up by another smirk.]

Oh, but it is. It's exactly what they deserve. They'll all fall into despair, and there's nothing they can do about it. They obviously can't try to kill me, because I'm already dead! It'd be a waste of time.

of course, there's always the problem with what to do when everyone's dead.

[suncrushed]

But why...? Why are you doing this, Roni? Why are you causing despair?

[Juniper just didn't understand what was driving Veronica's actions. She didn't understand why despair was that important to her, why she would want to make her friends suffer.]

[stitchedupbodyguard]

Because it's right.

[Suddenly the air in the room gets colder, Veronica's tone shifting to one more serious than before. Notably though, she looks away from Juniper.]

It's a test, a test to create the best of the best. My sister thought she could simply use her skills to make people better physically, but there's more to a person then the blood and guts they're made of. They need to behave right, they have to know what to do in the right situation no matter what.

...Like me.

[suncrushed]

And so you think causing despair is going to condition everyone...?

[Juniper shakes her head, taking a step forward. Her eyes are fixed on Veronica as she gradually approaches. All of this was morally wrong.]

Is that what you think? Killing people is going to help them?

It's going to improve them. You've seen how horrible they are already, what they've done back home.

[Despite the way she said it, there was doubt in her voice as she spoke to Juniper. She was doing the right thing, she was sure of it.]

It's natural, the weak and the strong and all that. The fact that my sister couldn't see that means she was wrong.

[suncrushed]

No, you're wrong, Roni. This isn't going to improve anyone. All you're doing is hurting others and killing people that'll never come back to life. Do lives mean that little to you?

[stitchedupbodyguard]

[There's a moments silence before Veronica looks back at Juniper. To be called wrong now, right as she was reaching fruition of her plans. Was Juniper really telling the truth?]

They... they're important for the progress of science. Every experiment must have consequences.

[suncrushed]

...But must those consequences be lives though, Roni?

[She frowns softly, crossing her arms.]

Is killing others really going to create this "best of the best" you want so desperately...?

[stitchedupbodyguard]

I...

[She stomps the ground with her boot. This whole conversation was getting to her.]

I'm doing what's right! Y-you just don't see it like I do!

[She breaths angrily for a moment, glaring at Juniper before looking at the floor.]

I... didn't expect this many people to... maybe I didn't expect anyone to die at all.

[suncrushed]

You didn't expect anyone to die, I'm sure.

[The Veronica she knew never would have.]

Or rather, you never wanted anyone to die.

....I expected that people would die. It's only natural that they do. And yet...

[Veronica looked down at herself. Like, really looked at herself.]

...I've made a mistake, haven't I?

[suncrushed]

It's never too late, you know.

[Juniper steps forward again, reaching for Veronica's hands.]

You can still fix this, Roni. Just stop. Please.

[stitchedupbodyguard]

[And now it's Veronica's turn to take a step back, looking almost fearful of Juniper's touch.]

I.... no... No...

[She tugged at her stitches agitatedly. Blood still dripped from a few spots, but it had stopped for the most part some time ago. Her picking at them risked opening them again though.]

This is all wrong... W-what was I t-thinking...

[suncrushed]

[That doesn't deter Juniper from taking another step forward. She doesn't attempt to reach for Veronica again, not yet.]
