Show me what you've got, and I know you've got a lot

We're closing in on our final investigation, and with it the graduation exam! It's been a great trip, but we're not quite at our destination yet. Here's how we're going to get there - please read the following for important information on how this is going to go!

SO THIS IS THE END, HUH?
It is! These last few days are going to decide the fate of not only the survivor pool, but everyone in the game.

...WAIT, WHAT? "EVERYONE IN THE GAME"?
Er...moving on.

WELL, IT'S THE ELEVENTH HOUR AND MY CHARACTER IS STILL ALIVE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
It means that you've earned your entry to the final battle. It does not, however, mean you've won the game.

There are several endings that may be brought into play, depending on the party's actions. Along with a standard good ending that ensures the survival of the nine of you still left, there are still several ways to bring the game to a bad or otherwise unfortunate conclusion, and there are also ways to make the standard ending better for yourselves. It all comes down to how well you do, and what actions you take at several critical junctures over the course of the "storyline," as it were.

WHAT ARE THESE "BAD ENDINGS" YOU KEEP MENTIONING?
Anything from a DR1-style "bad ending" (you know the one) to an abrupt and completed total-party kill, depending on how lenient your Mastermind feels like being.

OH.
Yeah.

WELL, THAT DOESN'T SOUND NICE. HOW DO WE AVOID GETTING A BAD ENDING?
Glad you asked! We have a few IC and OOC objectives that you have to meet. All of them must be met in order to satisfy the requirements for the standard good ending. They're demanding, but don’t let that make you too nervous - we want to see you beat the twisted evil things. So we won't make it easy for you, but we will make it possible, and we won’t go out of our way to lock you into a bad ending.

...We might make you despair, however, and we’re going to make you work for it.

WHAT ARE THE IC OBJECTIVES WE NEED TO MEET?
Since you guys aren't going about "graduating" using the Monobear-approved method that he laid out for you at the start of the round, the requirements are going to be steep. You have to solve all of the mysteries regarding the school, including where you are and how you got there; you also have to properly identify your Mastermind from the clues and evidence given, confront them, and decide the fate of your fellow survivors, the game, and possibly the multiverse itself.

In other words, no pressure.

WHAT ARE THE OOC OBJECTIVES WE NEED TO MEET?
As was outlined over here, there's a 100% participation rule in effect. You have to tag into both logs - the investigation and the graduation exam - and meet our participation requirements to count as having been "present" for the log. If you don’t meet the 100% participation rule, then the entire class is considered to have not met the requirement and will be locked into a bad end.

We're also enforcing a 100% completion rule with regards to the "storyline" or your IC objectives. If you don't manage to solve everything, then it's not going to be pretty.

Oh, and again, there are no saves, strikes or failsafes. You get the ending you earn, and there are no do-overs.

SO WHERE IS THIS FINAL INVESTIGATION GOING TO TAKE PLACE, ANYWAY?
The up-until-now mythical eighth floor! It looks something like this:

The pink section is where you start out, and it'll look immediately familiar to you once you step off the elevator, since you've seen it weekly for two months: that's your courtroom. The green, blue and red sections are the areas set up for your investigating pleasure - they’re set up in clusters of three rooms apiece, with the rooms to the left and the right being accessible from the center. Black is still inaccessible, and yes, the school is still a donut and it's quite a hike to get to the blue section. No shortcuts.

As for what’s in those rooms...well, you’ll find out when you get there.

IS THERE SOME SORT OF PROCEDURE FOR GETTING INTO THOSE COLORED SECTIONS?
For the sake of the mods' sanity and general ability to streamline the investigation process, it's recommended that you split up into groups of three - you can decide these among yourselves, we just ask that you please do it.

From an IC standpoint, you're entering the Mastermind's domain, and as you've already seen, it's difficult to get down there. Security is a little lighter down here as a result - the doors are unlocked, and there’s no particular protocol for getting into the main rooms outside of "properly operating a doorknob." Some of the rooms to the sides may be locked, though, and you’ll have to find the password to get inside.

LIGHTENED SECURITY MEANS THAT WE CAN GET AWAY WITH MORE STUFF, THOUGH, RIGHT?
No. You are still enrolled in Hope's Peak, so the rules still apply to you: there are cameras everywhere down here, and there are Monobears in reserve to carry out any punishments that may be incurred...so unless you want to knock the survivor pool down by a few numbers, rule-breaking is heavily discouraged.

THIS IS STILL ONLY EIGHT FLOORS. WHERE’S THE NINTH?
You'll see.

OKAY, SO WE'VE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND A FUCKLOT OF EVIDENCE. WHAT NOW?
Once the investigation stage is over, you'll be called back to the courtroom and the preliminary trial will begin! This is where you're responsible for figuring out Monobear's secrets and naming your Mastermind. Following that comes the graduation exam, which will be taken in front of the Mastermind in person; this is where you prove to them that you’ve done your homework, solved all the mysteries of the school, and then decide your fate.

BE HONEST WITH ME. IS IT JUNKO AGAIN?
Spoilers~
