Short steps, deep breath
We're closing out the final week of Round 3 of danganroleplay, and with that brings what you've all been waiting for...endgame! We hope you guys have had a good time so far, but all good things must come to an end. BUT WORRY NOT. We're in the home stretch, and that means that the next few days will be crucial in deciding just what sort of ending your story gets.
To that end, first thing's first. Please read the following information carefully!
MY CHARACTER HAS MANAGED TO MAKE IT THIS FAR, SO NOW WHAT?
We're glad you asked sonny jim. If your character is alive, that means you're on your way to the final trial of the game. However, it's going to be up to the final eight survivors to investigate the final mysteries of this accursed hotel before confronting the mastermind themselves. How well you do will determine what sort of ending you earn. In addition to the standard good ending of the rest of the survivors...you know, surviving and escaping the hotel, there are also multiple ways that the game can end badly. You can also earn a better ending for yourselves, depending on how you perform.
BAD ENDINGS?
Yes! A bad ending can be as severe as the rest of the survivors facing execution in the final trial, or...well, bad in a wholly different way.
...WHAT KIND OF CRYPTIC-
ANYWAY MOVING ON.
SO HOW CAN WE AVOID A BAD ENDING?
We have several IC and OOC objectives that must be met in order to avoid being locked into a bad ending. All of these objectives must be met to obtain a standard good ending. They aren't going to be easy, but not impossible. As much as we love seeing our players despurr, we do want to see you succeed and get the best ending you can; however, you will ultimately get the ending that you earn. No more, no less.
WHAT ARE THE IC OBJECTIVES WE NEED TO MEET?
The days of graduating by offing your fellow man (or woman, or dog, or w/e) have passed- this time around, things are going to be a lot harder. We have multiple mysteries that must be solved in relation to the hotel: how you got to where you are, why you're there in the first place, and what happened to your memories. Of course, the biggest objective is going to be properly identifying and confronting the Mastermind using the clues and evidence found during the final investigation.
WHAT ARE THE OOC OBJECTIVES WE NEED TO MEET?
This will be explained in further detail below in Da Rules, but there will be a 100% participation rule in effect. You have to tag into both logs- the investigation and the final trial- and meet our participation requirements to count as having been "present" for the log. If you don’t meet the 100% participation rule, then the entire class is considered to have not met the requirement and will be locked into a bad end.
We're also enforcing a 100% completion rule with regards to the "storyline" or your IC objectives. If you don't manage to solve everything, then it's not going to be pretty.
There are no saves, strikes or failsafes. You get the ending you earn, and there are no do-overs.
WHERE WILL THE FINAL INVESTIGATION TAKE PLACE?
HERE'S A HANDY DANDY MAP FOR YOU! This is not, however, an additional floor. This is the basement:.

You will arrive via elevator; there aren't any stairs leading into the basement. The elevator leads to a courtroom different from the one previously used for trials. The original courtroom was located in B1: this area is B2. At the far end you will find a pair of open doors leading into a long hallway. This is where your investigation will take place, along with the colored areas marked on the map.
ANY RULES ABOUT HOW WE CAN INVESTIGATE THIS AREA?
Similar to the final investigation of the previous round, we are going to ask that you split up into groups of three to investigate. We do not mind how this is done or who goes into what group, we just ask that you please do so. We also ask that one of you let us know who you've decided to be in what group in the comments on this post.
BUT WE...HAVE EIGHT...
Liv Tyler/Bun Hutchinson will count as one of your party members, which will bring your count up to 9.
OKAY, SO WHAT ELSE CAN WE GET AWAY WITH?
Even though things have changed up for the last week, that does not mean you are allowed to break the rules. Punishments can and will be carried out on guests who break them, so doing so is not advised.
NOW THAT WE'VE FOUND THE EVIDENCE, WHAT DO WE DO?
Once the investigation has drawn to a close, you will be called to the courtroom to commence the final trial! Here, you will be responsible for solving the mysteries of the hotel, as well as uncovering the Mastermind's true identity. Only then will you learn just what your fate will be.
I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN ANSWERED!
Fear not! Feel free to ask us any further questions in the comments!
Secondly (and thanks for sticking with us through alla that) Here is the current schedule of events for endgame!
DANGAN ROLEPLAY ROUND 3 ENDGAME SCHEDULE
8/6: The Monomono Machine will be cleared out and closed up for the round. Hoard up on your useless junk before endgame. Additionally, no AC post will be made for the last week of the game.
8/7: The Final Investigation log goes up. You will have the entirety of Friday the seventh to investigate.
8/8: The Final Trial log will be posted on Saturday.
8/9: There will be an Epilogue Log post on Sunday the ninth that will be determinant on the achieved ending.
Da Rules
Because it's endgame, we're tightening down a lot on the rules that are already in place. All of the rules on the rules post still apply unless directly contradicted by this post. This means you still have to watch your conduct, play nice with each other, and stay IC.
1) The Final Investigation/Trial will require 100% participation. Additionally, we're upping the participation requirement - in order to meet the OOC requirements for completion, each character must make at least 15 comments in both the Investigation and the Trial. This means that your final requirements will be 30 comments per character. If you're going to be completely absent for any of the dates listed above, tell us now and we will work with you. We're strict, not cruel. If you don't keep us filled in on what's going on, we will consider you in breach of the 100% participation rule, and the class as a whole will be locked into a bad ending.
1-a) While the OOC requirements are mandatory in order to qualify for a good ending, meeting the OOC requirements alone is not enough to guarantee a good ending. If you meet the OOC requirements without completing the IC objectives, we will give everyone a bad ending. Likewise, 100% completion of the IC objectives is meaningless without 100% participation. Work together and give 200% to beat the twisted evil things!!
2) For both the last trial and the final investigation/graduation exam, there will be no saves, strikes, or failsafes. A bad ending is entirely possible, and if you get one, that's it, game over. You'll have plenty of time to beat the twisted evil things if you work together, so this isn't "mods vs. players". You get out of endgame what you put into it, and we fully expect you to earn your happy ending.
Lastly, we want to say thank you all for making this round as awesome as it has been. Dangan Roleplay is only as great as its players, and we hope you've had half as much fun as we have. Stay safe, have fun, and let's make endgame the best we can make it!
